Alright so we all know the popular three monkeys:
Mizaru ~*見猿*~: See No Evil
Kikazaru ~*聞か猿*~: Hear No Evil
Iwazaru ~*言わ猿*~: Speak No Evil
Wait, they have a long lost brother.? A brother, perhaps cast out from the civilization due to not being a conformist and being an evil doer perhaps? Unfortunately not, for he is Shizaru ~*し猿*~, meaning Do No Evil.
Wow thanks Shizaru, we were hoping that there was just one monkey out there that would stand up for those of us who do not want to cover our eyes, ears or mouth, but nooooo you have to be out there crossing your arms over your crotch, abdomen or your chest and promote the non-doing of evil. Well I say poop on you Mr.! Wait monkeys are known for slinging poop. Hmmmm.
Alright, so there is this shrine in Japan that has these monkeys carved on to it, and is the source that made these monkeys popular. It is called the Tosho-gu shrine in Nikko, Japan. However, I only see the three monkeys, I do not see their 4th brother. I really think he is on hiatus doing evil. The hypocrite. Oh yeah, and there is this “so called” middle school of the sect that suggest these anti-evil monkeys are representing, woot woot, the three dogmas.
Okay, I know some of my readers and they are going to bring up, Evil Monkey, from Family Guy. No he does not count for he is a cartoon and he actually became good for a time.
